Poly Sci, Physics, Sociology, Psych Teachers Join Hartwick This Semester

Four tenure-track faculty members have joined Hartwick College this fall:
• Amy Forster Rothbart, assistant professor, political science. She double-majored in Russian and poly-sci at Bryn Mawr College, and received masters in poly-sci nad international public affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she taught and is working toward her Ph.D.
• Parker Troischt, assistant professor, physics . He received his bachelor’s from SUNY Geneseo, master’s from Michigan State, and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. His interests include MHD wave coupling, general relativity, astronomy, and teaching introductory physics.
• Cecelia Walsh-Russo, assistant professor, sociology. She received her bachelor’s from Smith, and masters in philosophy and Ph.D. from Columbia. Her interests in clue collective action and social movements. She taught at Queens and Columbia.
• Justin Wellman, assistant professor, psychology . He received a bachelor’s in psychology from Baldwin-Wallace College, and his master’s from the University of Toledo, where he also is pursuing his Ph.D. His research interests include statistical analysis, social psychology, and motivation and emotion. He taught at Toledo.
Also, Joseph Abramo received a term appointment as visiting assistant professor of music. He has a bachelor’s in music education from SUNY Potsdam’s Crane School and masters in music and education from Michigan State and Columbia. He taught at Kean University and State SUNY Orange.
Assistant Professor of Physics Parker Troischt also has been moved to a tenure-track position for the fall semester. Also, two native adjunct professors, Marina Reboul (French) and Leo Will (German), are on campus.
