Thousands of people lined Main Street for the noon-time parade kicking off the first National Baseball Hall of Fame's "Hall of Fame Classic." Fans young and old cheered the five Hall of Famers who will be playing in the 2 p.m. game in Doubleday Field. A home-run-hitting contest begins at 1, so there's still time to partake in the fun. The skies were threatening and there is a chance of rain through the afternoon, but the CCS HIgh School graduation was still on for an outdoor ceremony at 1:30 p.m. on the lower lawn of the Fenimore Art Museum. CAPTION: Mike Welch, general manager of Smith Ford, and son Chad, the dealership's director of marketing, pass the flagpole at Main and Pioneer in an antique Ford roadster in today's Classic parade. |
